This is the first in our series: Two Stories of Austin. Stay tuned for more interesting facts and ways to help!
Everyone knows Austin is quickly becoming a foodie town. There are homegrown restaurants everywhere, and we spend millions annually on food. But while the masses may be chowing down, ASA helps people who may lack access to healthy, fresh food.
Every month, our Helping Hands Food Bank empowers hundreds of individuals living with HIV and AIDS by giving them the tools they need to live a healthy life. We provide nutritional foods selected especially for those who have compromised immune systems, in addition to hygienic items to help offset financial burden. Also, our trained nutritionist can provide specialized nutritional counseling to our clients that they otherwise would have never had access to.
