Outreach Overview
AIDS Services of Austin reaches out to the community we
serve with strong, time-tested programs, including Women Rising Project,
Community PROMISE, The Q Mpowerment Program and rapid HIV testing.
Combined, ASA’s testing, prevention and outreach efforts reach over 10,000
people annually.
The Q Program is a community center run by gay, bisexual,
questioning and transgender men. They help build a stronger and more supportive
community by volunteering, hosting social events, and promoting a greater
interest in men’s health issues. The program mobilizes young men to shape a
healthy community, build positive social connections and support safer sex. Last
year, the Q Program reached 1,748 people.
Women Rising Project is dedicated to strengthening women
through programs and activities that provide education, connection, support,
advocacy and peer leadership opportunities.
Since 1995, the Women Rising Project has been committed to bringing
women living with the HIV and AIDS out of isolation and to addressing their
unique health education and support needs.
