When Ruth was 17, she found out she was HIV positive.  All the plans she made for her future were lost--she thought.

Fifteen years since she found out she was HIV positive, Ruth’s outlook is much different. She says that being released from the pressure of having to hide her HIV status gave her a “freedom she cannot explain.” Her parents went from planning her funeral to celebrating her marriage, and despair has transformed into hope.

The hope, support and education that our neighbors need are why we walk.
