Welcome to My Walk Page

Dearest Friends & Family,

As many of you are aware, I have volunteered with AIDS Services of Austin for over 19 years now and I believe this is my 16th year involved in the Austin AIDS Walk as either a walker, fundraiser or committee member.  This year I actually have the honor of Co-Chairing the 2012 AIDS Walk and look forward to the challenge!

Since 1993 when I did my first walk, so many of my friends and family members have been personally touched by HIV/AIDS and we've all lost too many friends along the way.  What initially drove my involvement in the cause was my sadness that a disease transferred primarily through acts of human connection was claiming so many lives.  What continues to drive my involvement is my belief that we will find a cure and while we have come a long way, we have a long road ahead of us.

The AIDS Walk is the single largest fundraiser for AIDS Services of Austin.  Founded in 1987, ASA is the regions oldest and largest community organization addressing the local AIDS crisis and annually they provide direct care services to over 1,500 people and HIV prevention education to over 10,000 people.  ASA needs your help in order to continue to offer these wonderful services in our community.

The good news is that you can help right now!  Please take a moment to help me reach my fundraising goal of $2,500 this year and donate to my team, With Loving Arms.  I thank you for changing the lives of our fellow Austinites and for changing my life for the better every day.

With love and gratitude,

Tina
